Born in South Africa, raised on the streets of Hilbrow, DJ Mkhukhwini lived in Orange Farm emikhukhwini (shacks) in which his stage name “DJ Mkhukhwini” derives from. With quite a number of productions that are under his belt some yet to be released as part KasiLuv Productions; DJ MK is a professional disc jockey with twenty (20) plus years of experience. He is based in the United Kingdom, holds a degree in Music Technology, is a two(2) time BEFFTA DJ of the Year award holder of 2013 and 2015. Best African house mix dj 2017 and is the founder of KasiLuv Entertainment.

 

 

As an award winning DJ, one of the most requested and experienced DJ’s in the House Music scene specializing on the Afro Tribal sound; Dj MK has had the honour to play alongside most esteemed international DJs the likes of Louie Vega (US), Manoo (US), Boddhi Satva (UK), Fabrizio Ortella (France), Zepherin Saint (Tribe, UK) to mention a few. Black Coffee, Glen Lewis, Manoo, DJ Cleo, Oskido, DJ Fresh, Vinnie Da Vinci, Euphonik and the list goes on. As part of his experiences, he has also done university tours with the Thabani Band and represented South Africa at the Isle of Wight Festival (2008) alongside other reputable UK artists. 

Looking closely at the achievements he attained over the years, DJ MK was the first South African DJ to play South African House music on BBC Radio 1xtra where he worked closely with DJ Edu as a mixtape DJ from March 2012 to September 2013, Inspiration FM from 2010 to 2018 and currently he is the DJ who keeps the waves at a peak with the Afro sounds session on NLive radio 106.9 every Saturday from 10pm till midnight. He has been with the NLive radio team since January 2019.
